Covid-19 Guidance

Updated 01/02/2022

As of today, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), guidance is to work with our state and local health officials and adjust our show as needed to meet the circumstances of the San Francisco Bay Area.  East Bay Heritage Quilters - Voices in Cloth (EBHQ-VIC) will be making our decisions based on the guidance issued by the Contra Costa County Health Department (CCCHD) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for the type and size of our event.  The new CDPH directive was updated December 31, 2021 the new guidance will start January 15, 2022 which will supersede all prior guidance.  As COVID-19 changes in our community we will update this page with any new local and state directives that are issued.

We anticipate our policy to be:

  • All attendees, vendors and volunteers for the upcoming EBHQ-VIC will be required to wear a face mask and maintain social distancing.
  • All attendees may be required to show verification of full vaccination by card or digital copy, or provide negative results of a pre-entry test.
    • Current pre-entry testing guidance states that all unvaccinated attendees must show proof of a negative test.  For an antigen test within one day and within two days for a PCR test.   Results of the test must be shown at time of entry into the facility or venue. Children under 2 years of age are exempt from the testing requirement, consistent with CDC guidance.  To get a digital copy of your CA COVID-19 Vaccine Record at https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/
  • If attendance size is limited, advance ticket holders will be admitted before cash paying attendees.
  • All attendees, vendors and volunteers agree to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.  If any of the symptoms are present, do not attend the EBHQ-VIC show.

The final decisions on the show's COVID-19 policy will be made in early March 2022 based the County and State requirements.  EBHQ-VIC policy is to protect the health and well-being of our vendors, our attendees, our volunteers, and others who help us put on our show, as well as our own EBHQ members.

Due to the highly contagious nature of COVID-19, EBHQ-VIC  cannot guarantee that its attendees, volunteers, vendors, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.  Please read our COVID-19 Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk below.

There are still several months until our show takes place.  As information develops and requirements or policies change, we will post it to both the EBHQ VIC webpage and, in March, on our Facebook page .

In August 2020, we canceled VIC 2020 and during this time it has been unprecedented for the San Francisco Bay area and the VIC quilting community.  So we are looking forward to our first scheduled live event in March 2022, and welcoming our friends and neighbors.
